So this will be the first of many posts leading up to Dilfest on Saturday. I’m hoping it doesn’t rain on Saturday. Weather website says “showers” but I’m hoping they don’t do their job correctly.
Anyway, Dilfest started out with high hopes of building a pig spit with some cinderblocks and a stainless steel rod. We went and got the blocks and drove around Kent/Brimfield to find ourselves a stainless steel pole that could hold a sixty pound pig. After trying places like Lowe’s and Kent Hardware we went to some welding place and bought a scrap rod off of them for 45 dollars to find out that we might not be using it. Great. After experimenting with the setup of the spit we called it a night and just played basketball. The next day Scott and I went and picked up some dodgeball arena material and set it aside to be setup on Friday. Misty picked up a new badminton (what a way to spell that) kit and we had a few intense games of badminton and volleyball. I made trophies for the tournaments as well. They feature epic legends like Wolverine, Shaq, and one of the members from Legion Of Doom. This week will have more preparation as we set the arena up, pick up the pig, get the spit and get exercise so we all can survive Dilfest 2008.

Check this new song out by Nas. I love it. Still wouldn’t use the word but I love the concept, the meaning and the song.

Summer. It’s almost here. I plan on dunking, skating, painting, taking pictures and designing. I re-designed the FROM THE ROAD book and will have a copy in my hands as soon as one more story gets in. I’ll post pictures and tell you how to get one.
I’ve got to get organized. I want big plans for this summer.

So to help out a friend of mine I had to dress up like a Ritz cracker and hand out crackers. Here is the video.

Big plans for this summer all around. Lots of trips, lots of activities and lots of design.
This summer marks the beginning of branding a new design firm. Ed Blankenship, Chris Wymer and I are going to work on building a name, logo, and overall feel for a new design firm we will be starting. It’s going to be very casual for now taking on some projects here and there but will be started none the less. Keep your eyes out for a website and portfolio. Spread the word.
Some design projects over the summer include the packaging and creation of the new 47 Chromosomes movie. I will hopefully get a new design portfolio website for myself up as well. Also, I would like to continue to work on a book about local Ohio bands touring I was planning on putting out last summer called “From The Road”. I found a website that will press individual books so I’ll keep you updated. I need a few more stories to finish the book though. If you are in a band and want to write a story for me just e-mail me at David.Manofwar@gmail.com
Dilfest 2008 is arriving. Be prepared.
